Barbeque in Charleston

Which is better Bessinger%26#39;s or Sticky Fingers?

Barbeque in Charleston

Wow.

That%26#39;s a difficult question to answer.

Sticky Fingers has a little more variety in the barbeque that they offer. Different rubs and preparations - one of their more famous is the ';Memphis Dry'; ribs, sesoned with a dry rub that is coated on the meat prior to cooking. I%26#39;ve only eaten there a few times but have yet to be disappointed.

There are a number of Bessinger%26#39;s in Charleston, all related but owned by different brothers. I guess the most famous one is the one on Savannah Hwy (aka US Hwy 17) in the West Ashley area. This restaurant has a fantastic buffet on Thursday - Sunday evenings. We went there last week and I was very impressed (and I%26#39;m a certified BBQ judge). Not only excellent pork, but the %26#39;fixins%26#39; were great as well. There is also a sandwich side of the house that is open throughout the week. Their burgers are first-rate, too!

If you%26#39;re looking for good %26#39;que%26#39;, you can also try ';Mama Brown%26#39;s';, which is on Coleman blvd in Mt. Pleasant, just before the Ben Sawyer bridge that takes you to Sullivan%26#39;s Island. It%26#39;s an old convenience store turned into a restaurant - not fancy, but excellent food.

Back to your question - you really can%26#39;t go wrong with either Bessinger%26#39;s or Sticky Fingers. They are both very good! Bessinger%26#39;s is probably a bit more popular with the locals.
