My family and I have plans to go to Folly Beach for July 4th week. We have never been there.. but we go to Charleston quite often. We are tired of the hub bub @! Myrtle beach and want to try somewhere new. Any suggestions or comments would be great!

Folly Beach has a well-earned and longstanding reputation as a sort of honkytonk party place. It%26#39;s ';downscale'; by comparison to the other beach areas around Charleston. And that%26#39;s what I like about it! Let the well-heeled and the yuppies have their fun at Isle of Palms, Edisto Island, Kiawah, Hilton Head, etc etc. The sand and surf are every bit as nice at Folly Beach, and Charleston%26#39;s a short drive away for rainy days.
