Has anyone gotten a great deal on a Charleston hotel through Priceline? I was just wondering which hotels participate. I really would like the Downtown/Historic area.
Priceline
Wkends are very expensive, especially now.
Someone just got the Francis Marion for $80 night for 3 nights weekdays.
These are the hotels priceline uses (not exhaustive but accurate):
Downtown Charleston
4 Star
Renaissance Charleston
3 Star
Francis Marion Hotel
Doubletree Guest Suites Charleston
Embassy Suites Charleston
Mills House or Holiday Inn Mills House
2 Star
Howard Johnson
Ashley River Area
3 Star
Charleston Riverview Hotel
2.5 Star
Courtyard By Marriott
Residence Inn
2 Star
Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview
Let us know how it goes! I was gonna priceline, but am instead opting for a budget motel in Mount Pleasant - because I need to include the wkend and also so I can cancel or leave early if the weather isn%26#39;t good.
Priceline
To follow up, if by chance you%26#39;ve ever stayed at any budget motel anywhere in the area, I%26#39;d be very interested in what you know (please see my other thread in here from yesterday). Thanks.
I did Priceline several weeks ago for a 3 night trip in June and got the Francis Marion for $95 I think. After reading the reviews on this site it makes me a bit scared. I%26#39;m not used to staying in hotels with wet shabby carpet and peeling wallpaper. Honestly, I don%26#39;t know how a hotel in that condition is considered 3 star by Priceline. I hope the reviews are wrong. I just hope it ends up being clean and the air works!
Best of luck on your search. I will let you know how this works out.
I actually posted this earlier...
I did the priceline thing for 3 Charleston trips.
1 ~ Holiday Inn on the river ( yuck )
2 ~ Springhill Suites.. ( very nice ) across the river
3 ~ Courtyard By Marriott ( nice with a great view )
I know the HI and the Springhill has shuttles to the downtown area until like 12 AM. If you can pinpoint the ammentities.. you can prob fiqure out which is which hotel. haha I am that peculiar about hotels.
Good luck!
fridayqueen, dont worry too much about the Francis Marion... i was there last week and it%26#39;s an elegant hotel in a fantastic location.
usually a disproportionate people post bad experiences.
and if you%26#39;re going midweek in spring, you can probably pick/change a room if the one assigned is no good, because it wont be full. (weekends are a different story tho)
Thanks irblaster, that helps to set my mind at ease!
