Umbrella/Chair rental on Myrtle Beach

Hi:

We will be visiting there end of June. My elderly mom will not be able to tolerate the hot sun.. Our hotel is 2 blocks from the beach, so they dont supply umbrellas. Can anyone tell me how much umbrella anc chair rentals are?

I contacted Johns down there, but they never replied..

Any info is appreciated...

We were in North Myrtle Beach last July 4 and it was $20.00 for 2 chairs and one umbrella from about 9 am to 4 pm. Worth every penny if you ask me!

Thanks to ';thebirdlady';. I appreciate your response..$20 is very reasonable for 2 chairs and an umbrella.. Some resorts charge $20 or more just for an umbrella!!!!! lol

We use umbralla/chair rental every year that we go as I get ';sun poisoning.'; You can rent them on a weekly basis or whatever the number of days that you may need it. You usually get a discount if you rent them this way instead of on a day-to-day basis.

Well like the birdlady said they are 20 dollars, but I got one for the whloe wekk and it was like $150 for the whole week aint bad. Well hope you have fun because I am going July 14-21 and I cant wait

Depending on how often you think you will need the umbrella.. it may be cheaper to buy one from the Wings stores... most of the time.. the lifeguards will even ';plant'; the post for you.

To puppydogeyes: Thanks for the info.. I called one of the Wings stores and asked about the cost of an umbrella, and they are really dirt cheap.. As long as they are durable enough to withstand the wind on the beach, I will purchase one or two for the week that we are there on vacation... appreciate your help...

What is the going rate to purchase an umbrella? Is it cheap enough to buy it for the week and then leave it? Would I come out ahead?

Hi psimon: I called the ';Wings'; stores down in the Myrtle Beach area (2 that I know of) and they quoted me starting prices of like $9.99 and up.. The addresses are as follows: 1600 N. Kings Hwy and 5650 S. Kings Hwy.. So, depending on whether or not they are sturdy enough to withstand the wind on the beach, I may very well go this route and just throw it away after a week, since we are flying there... Hope this helps

What about those popup sunshade or tents for the beach? Do you see many of those and are they allowed?

Philly fan..glad you called the store. Now they do go up in price.. the thicker the UV protection.. but I really think it is cheaper. And if you don%26#39;t want to carry it home... I am sure you can find a needy family that will put it to good use. Since I am just a drive away... I stick mine in my patio table at home. :o)

Also... the tent things.. I think you can get at Walmart.. but don%26#39;t quote me on that. There are 3 or 4 Super Walnmarts down there and atleast on e target that I know of.. and a Sam%26#39;s club.
