Hi,
I will be traveling to Charleston for business in a few weeks alone. I have never been to the area. What are some good things for me to do at night as far as signt-seeing and dining.

My favorite restaurant is Basils. It is thai..and fantastic. There is 82 Queen .. Poogan%26#39;s Porch... TONS of great restaurants in the downtown area. I can%26#39;t really address the nightlife issue.

It will be hot when you get here so bring summer clothes! There are 3 rooftop bars in downtown charleston which are fun. The rooftop at vendue is the original one. you can see the harbour from the top floor and they sometimes have live music. The terrace is one of the newer ones. it is expensive and the service use to suck but it may have improved. Also The market pavillon ( on the corner of eastbay and south market st.) has a nice rooftop bar. it has a dress code so no flip-flops or jeans. Also, meritage is a popular place to go and stays busy all night. The roof top bars close around ten, but if you ask the waiters they will tell you the best place to go next! Have fun...it is very alive in the summer!
