We are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach in May and I would like to find out which part would be the best for us. My husband and I went about three years ago for the first time and was very dissapointed. Spent most of the day looking at rooms trying to find a comfortable one to us. Ended up at the Sandcastle. Didn%26#39;t take the kids but saw that this place is clearly family oriented. This time we would like to take the kids but would like to find somewhere that%26#39;s clean, 4 year old likes to play around. Also would love a kiddie pool or lazy river. My husband is into fishing so were probably leaning towards North Myrtle Beach.
We normally go to Virginia Beach about 4 times a year and have visited a few other beaches but I remembered the activities in MB and figured this would be something fun for the kids as well as ourselves.
I just would like to find a nice hotel that could group all of the above together. Otherwise I%26#39;ll have to follow my husband%26#39;s advice and wait until we get there and look at the rooms before we pay. EXHAUSTING!!!
Thanks

Personally, I would book ahead, I would rather book online then spend my vacation day looking at rooms, but that is just me. We stay at Ocean Creek however; no lazy river here. There are several pool and kiddie pools and is conveniently located across from Barefoot Landing. I would recommend the Stay and Play magazine which lists just about all accommodations in the Myrtle Beach Grand Strand area. I believe the Landmark is a great hotel, as is Sea Crest. We are a family of six with four boys ranging from 3 to 16 and we always have a great time. We enjoy the Water Parks, Nascar (older boys got to drive their own car) Lots of things to do to keep everyone entertained. Good Luck.

Traveled with 4 adults, a 9-year-old and a 15-year-old. We stayed at Ocean Reef in North MB, had a great time, condo was very clean.
There is a lazy river, jacuzzis, pools, splash pools, all heated, some partially indoors. It was too cold to swim one day of our trip, but we swam the rest of the time.
We loved the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues, and Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell%26#39;s Inlet.
Have fun!
I would suggest the Sandy Beach Resort. It%26#39;s located just far enough south of the Pavilion area to avoid most of the traffic and noise. The rooms in the Magnolia building are nice, spacious, have kitchens and are all oceanfront. The hotel has multiple pools, hot tubs and a small lazy river. The lazy river, one pool and one hot tub are under the building if you want to seek shelter from the sun in the middle of the day. Navigating from here is a breeze without ever having to get on Hwy 17, 501 or Ocean Blvd you can go almost anywhere and avoid the traffic. There is a convenience store across the street, Family Kingdom amusement park across the street, the areas only oceanfront water park next door, some dining options within easy walking distance and 2nd Ave. Pier is a very short walk on the beach. We%26#39;ve stayed here many times over the last few years and have enjoyed every stay. Families and couples only.
If you stay in North Myrtle you may find yourself doing a lot of driving to keep the teen entertained. Here%26#39;s a link to the Sandy BEach Resort. Enjoy!

You are better off booking on line. The clerks usually eat you alive if you just show up. The Breakers North Tower is nice. You may be better off renting a beach house with a pool. Almost the same rates or better and you won%26#39;t have to hassle with the maids waking you up every day. Go to GMAC Elliott realty for a variety of rooms and pictures available. You can rent a two bedroom condo there for a reasonable price. Myrtle Beach has become a very noisy and congested area. You%26#39;re better off going a little south or north to Cherry Grove Beach. With the new highways it%26#39;s simple to avoid most of the traffic. Myrtle Beach Resorts also has some good deals on condos.
Why not stay at the Sandcastle South Beach if that is where you stayed beforenot sure if you tayed there or the pavillion, any way they are running a special thru the end of June, a 2 bedroom suite for 79 a night,
Yep... sandcastle is running a special thru Travelzoo.... I guess its the same 79 dollar deal the above referenced. Good deal for that time of year!
