Anniversary Trip

My husband and I are planning an anniversary trip and we thought of going to Hilton Head. I have read very mixed reviews about places to stay. We want to stay in a nice place since we don%26#39;t get the opportunity to travel without our three children very often. I was interested in the Westin and the Hilton resorts but I noticed the Westin has had a lot of complaints and the Hilton is just a three star resort(according to AAA). Does anybody have any suggestions? We will be traveling in May. I am thinking about going to Asheville instead if we can%26#39;t find something in Hilton Head.

I think the complaints about the Westin are greatly exagerated. I have found the resort to be top class. In fact i can%26#39;t think of a nicer place to stay on the island. I would avoid the Hilton unless you are into big crowds and partiers as it tends to be the place for yournger crowds. The Westin is much more upscale. You might also consider renting a villa for your stay. Many times prices are comparable to the hotels. I would reccommend either the Sea Pines area or Forest bach, near Coligny Circle as both offer shopping and beach access nearby.
