Barefoot Resort

We are coming down on a Marriott Preview deal and they are putting us up at Barefoot Resort. It looks like a nice place but sounds like it is a distance from beach. We were hoping to stay at Kingston Plantation since it is closer to the beach. Is there anything to do at the resort. I%26#39;m sure we will be staying in one of the back villas. We will have two college age boys so they are old enough to take the shuttle but sounds like it is a hassle if you want to go to beach just to take a walk.

Please would like any comments on this place.

Barefoot Resort

It is definitley across the highway from the beach. It is golf course resort. It has pools and many amenities. It sits behind Barefoot Landing which is a large shopping, restaurant, show complex.

It%26#39;s s apretty nice place to hang- something for all ages. They have a House of Blues, Alligator Adventure, amy little shops and tons of food places, street performers during the summer etc. The highway you have to cross to get to the beach is very busy with many lanes, but there are traffic lights to help stop traffic long enough for you to get across. I%26#39;m not sure but I think you would have to walk thru one of the big hotel complex%26#39;s to get to the beach because there is no public beach access right there that I know of. I%26#39;m not sure the shuttle would be that helpful either. If you want to be able to get the beach easily and take walks, swim and sunbathe it is not very convenient.

Barefoot Resort

anga - thanks for the info - i called barefoot resort and the lady told me they don%26#39;t have tennis courts yet just swimming pools. I%26#39;m trying to get Marriott to find another place for us. It sounds like it will be a very nice place when it is all finished.
