Ju2222,
Thanks for the reply. Which hotel does your mother think is nicest?
Has she seen Avista, Breakers or Longbay? Did Sea Crest ever let her in to see the rooms? That is weird they wouldn%26#39;t show her the rooms. If she didn%26#39;t see the rooms, what did she think of the place overall.
What in particular was so dirty about Landmark? What kind of room did they show her?
Are you looking to stay in South or North MB? I have two older teenagers and while I probably would prefer North, I think they would have a better time in South. Do you know how far it is from North MB to South?
I heard that Avista was really nice, but it is North MB.
Landmark gave me a temporary reservation in an oceanfront room with 3 DBL beds and a full kitchen for $157. I thought that was pretty good for all of that.. but, not if it is totally disgusting.
Help! I am making myself crazy!!
I would appreciate all the help you can give me. It is great you have someone down there to check things out for you! I have never been there.
I see you%26#39;re from NY.. I am too. When are you planning on going? We are going at the end of June.
Again.. Thanks for the help.
TO: Ju2222... Thanks and I have a question for you.
avista is very nice, but north and not completed. I get the impression NMB has much nicer hotels. But your not near anything teenagers would want to do. my mother said land mark was so dirty she wouldnt let her dog stay there.I am also going with teenagers and it being my second time suggest downtown area. Breakers is nice if you request new tower. The caribbean resort is also nice Iactually booked it but my confirmation letter came with a 50.00 resort fee in addition to room rate and taxes Im not sure what your looking for in a hotel but I would rather stay in a nice clean smaller hotel without resort rules and sneaky fees.then an over crowded fancy place. sandy beach resort seems good, mom says its clean and newer looking(magnolia building)and it is between pavillion and family kingdom. I am also looking at bar harbor mom is looking at it on Tues. according to their rate sheet for June. you can have a 3brm oceanfront with 4queen beds 2 baths and 3 tvs and full kitchen. for 225.00 per night Ill let you know if its nice.It has great reviews on tripadvisor. and also right between the two parks.
TO: Ju2222... Thanks and I have a question for you.
Ju2222,
Thanks for the reply. Wow the resort fee is high.. I guess you have to ask upon booking if they have one. That is definetly a rip off.
I have been seeing recommendations for the The New Roxanne Towers. Has your mom checked that one out?
I think I will let my temporary reservation go for The Landmark. It sounds scary.
My dad has stayed in MB.. he is trying to convince me into North MB..he said the hotels in South MB are all old and Yucky.. and the ones in North are mostly new. But, with teenagers, I wonder if they would be bored! I wonder how far it actually is to the action. I think for them it would be more important to be where the action is, especially if traffic is horrendous as they say and where would you park anyway.
I am going to check out the hotel you suggested on the web.
Let me know if you have any more info. for me.
Thanks.
hi i dont know if you smoke but although quite nice roxanne towers is a totally smoke free hotel. mom thought bar harbor was clean but older .I have decided to stay at sandy beach resort. its close to every thing teenagers want and magnolia building is modern, clean and quite nice. I booked jacuzzi suite seperate bedroom 2 queen beds full kitchen, livingroom with pullout couch and full size murphy bed 925.00 for 10 days in august. www.beachtrips.com.PS north myrtle beach is quite far you must drive and kids will drive you crazy wanting rides. If you go to lymo.com and click ocean ave route you will get a map of most hotels with locations very helpful. hope this helps you.

Ju2222,
Thanks for the reply. I have been so busy that I haven%26#39;t been online lately. Finally a day off.
I let my temporary reservation lapse at the Landmark thanks to yours and others comments. Sounded a little scary.
I keep thinking of Avista, but am considering the distance from the action.
Did your mom check out The Roxanne Towers?
I will check out the hotel you are staying at. The price sounds good! What are the ammenities at that resort?
Thanks again.

roxanne towers is very nice but keep in mind its totally smoke free. also avista is not completed and from what I understand they had a huge problem in the outdoor pool area and thats why its not completed. also its very far from action. And your kids wiil be unhappy believe me. definately checkout golymo.com route15 ocean blvd. it will put things in pespective for you distance wise. Better book quickly for June whatever you deceide or you wont get what you want. Try caribbean resort.com Its very nice and close and maybe its worth the resort fee to you if you get what your looking for.Ithink if they told me about the fee instead of sneaking it on my bill Iwould have kept my reservation there. Also if you decide to stay more north a summer wind is gorgeous and brand new with really good prices. mom liked it the best with caribbean resort 2nd and sandy beach resort 3rd.

We have never been to MB but I was having the same difficulty with finding a place to stay. What made our decision for us was after hours on line looking at rooms that looked like they needed updated and very scary reviews we did decide on The Avista Resort. We realize we are not right in the middle of the ';action'; but I would rather have a nice place to sleep and not have to worry about my kids so much. My kids arent teenagers though. I have spoken directly with the General Manager Mr Meegan about completion of the outdoor pool area and all other facilities and he sent me an E Mail along with written guaruntee that all facilities will be complete by our arrival July 9. It actually states all facilities will be complete June 6 or before. I dont know if this helps you, but I refuse to stay in gross rooms. I explained to the GM that I wanted this in writing due to all the conversation about the completion of the Resort on Tripadvisor. He was very nice and understands that we will not stay if all is not complete upon arrival. We sent a cash deposit so they have no credit card nbr if things arent right when we arrive. I feel very confident that there will be no problems. They have been more than nice about the 5 million questions I have had for them. Good Luck!
