where to stayTry the Avista Resort. www.avistaresort.com I can%26#39;t say enough good things.
The cherry grove pier is in NMB/ check with a real estate co about condos with a lazy river- I%26#39;m not sure there are any near the pier. The SeaPointe condo has a private pier, but only has outside pool. You can fish from the pier or the beach but in the 18 years we have vacationed there my family has not been impressed with the ocean fishing there. Mostly what was caught off the pier were small sharks and rays. They drive down to the inlet area of Ocean Isle Beach or Sunset Beach and caught lots of flounder and blues. They have fished in the intercoastal waterways at NMB and MB with some success. Also the inlet channel at he very end of Ocean Blvd in NMB has a lot of beach fishing- but again we never saw many catches. Also area is very dependent on the tides which at high tide can totally cover the beach area.
I don%26#39;t know that you%26#39;ll get all that with a condo. No pier nearby in NMB, plenty within walking distance though.
We like the condo%26#39;s at Nautical Watch (Beachcomber Vacation Rentals) Each unit sleeps 6, depending on the age of your kids I would assume this would be okay. Otherwise side-by-side rental units are available (our choice for traveling with several couples).
There is a pool on the street side (well screened from street and parking lot) and condo%26#39;s are ocean front.
Price was right - peak season rate I believe we paid 850 / which is about 125 per day.
