I am looking for fun things to do with my family for our vacation June 11-18. We have 2 small kids 1 and 3. Both our kids love animals.
Would Alligator Adventure be fun? Is it stroller friendly?
thanks
jen
Alligator AdventureWe%26#39;ve been to Alligator Adventure a couple times and I think your kids would love it. You can watch an alligator feeding which is fun and there are lots of unusual animals like large tortises and albino alligators. There is also a fun reptile show which is worth going to. I didn%26#39;t use a stroller there, but it seems to be very kid friendly, so I think you could easily use your stroller.
Alligator AdventureI am sure they would love tje Waccatee Zoo. You get to feed most of the animals...
Hi Jen-we were there about 6 months ago and just stumbled upon Alligator Adventure. It turned out to be the highlight of the trip that we all still talk about. Strollers are no problem at all. One thing I will mention too is that their snack bar was very inexpensive (no loan required).
Alligator Adventure is a ';must do'; especially if you have kids.
I took my sister%26#39;s kids (3yr %26amp; 7yr) and the 7 year old was scared stiff - terrified by the feeding show, terrified by everything. This is a stroller friendly environment, even when the 3rd old wanted to get out it was convenient to push the stroller and hold all necessities.
Please note - we didn%26#39;t know she would be afraid, neither did she but it just scared the pants off her! They are actually frightening, because they jump up in the air and they move much faster than you would expect. They also do this commentary where they tell you that they can run fast and if they don%26#39;t catch you on quickness alone, they%26#39;ll get you with their tails. A lot depends on the kid, and as much as we tried to reassure her she was just horrified. We left about 30 minutes after arriving.
She did like Ripley%26#39;s aquarium - and held a horseshoe crab - go figure? Anyway, kids have crazy reactions to things - if you think your kid might be skittish - skip Alligator Adventure.
We took our kids to the Alligator Adventure they were older than 1 and 3, the oler kids really enjoyed it. My four year old enjoyed the Aquarium more. It is stroller friendly, but I can understand how it could be frightening to smaller children. Ripley%26#39;s Aquarium is great too, you may be better off going there.
