Guys in mid 20s... where to stay?

Hi --

Me and some friends, all in our mid 20s, are planning a week in Myrtle Beach towards the latter part of June. Seeing as how we probably wouldn%26#39;t be interested in the ';family scene,'; is there an area of Myrtle we should look to stay as opposed to others? What hotels are close to the nightlife? Any suggestions as to what hotels to look into?

Any advice is appreciated!

Guys in mid 20s... where to stay?

Sorry guys to bust your bubble but Myrtle Beach has been voted every year as #1 Family Beach in the U.S.I would think you guys would want to go to Daytona Beach or Panama city Beach. If you do decide to still go to Mb I would suggest Coral Beach resort because they have a poolside bar with live entertaiment all day and Karokee. They also have a sports bar and comedy club on site. They also have a bowling alley with pool tables. There are a lot of bars at Broadway at the beach and a lot of gentlemens club in Mb.If you want to stay at Broadway at the beach There is a Holiday inn and Fairfield Inn.The holiday inn express has cont. breakfast and a free shuttle to the beach.

We%26#39;re all college grads and not interested in the true Spring Break scene anymore. I know the rap about MB being great for families, but surely it%26#39;s not 100% families all the time, is it?

I have been going to mb for over 10 years and it seems to be a family kinda place to me.I am sure as stated before you will have a good time just keep in mind as I said be prepared for kids and families just about everywhere.Examples the hotel pool, beach, and attractractions in the area. The only places I cant see to many kids are golf course (but they do golf to because some hotels offer free golf for kids in their packages),bars, and gentleman clubs.I still think you could have a good time if you keep this in mind.I do still suggest coral beach resort and Holiday Inn Express at Broadway at the beach.Plus you will be coming in June when kids are out for summmer break.Have a great trip.We love mb.

While myrtle is very family oriented, tons of college students and people in their 20%26#39;s are there all summer. A lot of people go for their senior trips after they graduate, that may be a little too young of a crowd for you guys, but there is also usually a lot of people around your age. You will definietly want to stay in downtown myrtle, either on the strip near the pavillion or near broadway at the beach. There are plenty of bars and clubs around thouse areas....I like Freaky Tiki and I%26#39;ve heard Club Kryptonite is really good too. And of course there are a ton of bars and clubs at Broadway. Let me know if you have any other questions, hope you have a good trip!

We%26#39;d like to find a place along the ocean that%26#39;s pretty close to Broadway at the Beach. We%26#39;ve been looking at the Boardwalk Resort, but are there any other hotels that meet this criteria that we should consider?

Myrtle Beach definitely has a family element, but good lord - so does Orlando and they%26#39;ve got a great young scene going on.

My advice is NMB is definitely more family oriented - quieter less congested. My friends and I always stay in NMB at Nautical Watch (book through beachcomber vacation rentals) because it is less expensive (850 peak season) than a hotel, we can sleep late in the mornings. Also, with the full kitchen we save a lot on eating out all the time. As far as traveling back and forth to MB we and assign a DD or take cabs back %26amp; forth to Broadway at the Beach, where there are great clubs - similar to City Walk in Orlando. Cab ride is 15.00 each way.

You%26#39;ll have a great time.

The Yachtsman Resort is in a good location if you want to be close (not in walking distance) to Broadway at the Beach. It is an oceanfront hotel next to Pier 14 (restaurant and bar on the Pier). Also, there is a shuttle service that picks up at most of the major hotels and drops you off at Broadway, etc.

Yeah, the Boardwalk Resort is around where you would want to be. Broadway at the Beach isn%26#39;t on the ocean so it%26#39;s not really walking distance to any hotels that are ocean front. But like AmySC said, i think there is a ';Lymo Bus'; that would take you to Broadway if you stay on the ocean. The Yachtsman Resort looks really nice and is in a good location, you might also want to try the Atlantica or the Camelot, those are all around the same area and oceanfront.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

You will have a great time. lots to do in downtown area. Including clubs, parasailing, bungee jumping. and a really big roller coaster. If you go on www.golymo.com and click on route#15 this will give you a good idea of oceanfront hotel locations near Broadway at the Beach and entire downtown area. Breakers,Grand carolinian,Dayton house,Boardwalk, caribbean resort all around the broadway at the beach section. and are all nice hotels that are also in walking distance of downtown.

I think you are on the right track staying close to Broadway. I can%26#39;t recommend hotels there but it%26#39;s a great location in the middle of everything. Anyone that thinks Myrtle is only family oriented is sadly mistaken. There is plenty of dirt to go around. Almost as many strip clubs/massage parlors as golf courses :-) Ok, that is a bit of an exagerration but you get the point. The clubs at Broadway are good and if you are interested in some rowdy country music head downtown to the Bowery.
