HELP!! Too many too choose from

I have been online for almost 6 hours reading reviews and I am overwhelmed - stay, don%26#39;t stay - north/south!! haha Hubby and I have 3 boys (bringing a 4th) ages 8-15 and thinking the end of July or beginning of Aug. Must have a pool as well as close, if not on the ocean. Also would like some other entertainment (any free boardwalk stuff, shows...)? I see there are a lot of places to go that you pay for. Also inexpensive dinners - don%26#39;t always want to cook and want some nice choices. Checking into Ocean Creek Resort and also Seacrest?? Thanks, desperate and tired

HELP!! Too many too choose from

I would stay at the Sea Crest we love it.We have two boys 12 and 10 that liked the hotel pools. They have package plan that has tickets for Family Kingdom that is right across the street. They also offer free breakfast that comes in handy and fat in the am to get you out to the pool and ocean. If you are on a budget then Sea Mist is a great option with a lot of activities in their package deal. There is alot of entertaiment on their property that is in the package deal. As far as resonable dinners I have found MB to be very expensive.It%26#39;s all about the money in Myrtle Beach. It does not stop us just bring your pocket book.

HELP!! Too many too choose from

We stay at Ocean Creek, 3 bedroom condo that we rented through a private owner, we have stayed a Myrtle Beach for about 11 years now and absolutely love it here! We have stayed at two other places but had some problems with our condo etc. Sea Crest looks wonderful also, it is much newer that Ocean Creek. Ocean Creek has several out door pools (no lazy river) it is right across the street from Barefoot Landing, OC is a 57 acre resort, lots of trees, flowers etc. really pretty place. We vacation at the end of August and the beach is not that crowded, it has a very wide beach lots of room to get a great spot and not be crowded. We have four boys (15,14,8 and 3 and they enjoy Myrtle Beach.)We took the boys to NASCAR and they got to drive their own race cars and they loved that. Myrtle Waves is a nice place also, We eat breakfast in our condo, and lunch, and we go out for dinner later in evening, some of our favorites our, Hamburger Joes, Margaritaville, Spring House and others that were recommended were: Creek Ratz, Lee%26#39;s and Drunken Jacks. Any thing else just feel free to ask, Have fun!

Thanks Sweetiepie and Mom4 (hey sweet - just up the road from you in Springboro,OH). Now I have read some bad reviews about Seacrest in the last hour - now contemplating a package through Ocean Creek (including some entertainment tickets - Beach Bag they call it - 5 days between $930-970) or what about Affordable Family Resort (has a slide, but is in the south end of Myrtle and only 120-140 a night then purchase entertainment on the side - all looks to even out on price I think?) and Ocean is in the north? Neither have a lazy river and I thought that would be relaxing as well. Thinking indoor pool because of the heat, but really would the kids care? 4 boys - 15, 14, 12 and 8. Def going to have our own bedroom and a kitchen where ever we stay. Anymore advice? Would like to stay 5-7 days, but don%26#39;t want to stay in a crappy place, want something to entertain boys during down time - arcade, pool? thanks

I have heard the Afford family resort is not nice and across the street from the ocean. The only thing about Ocean Creek I do not like it is to far from the action but some like it quiet.Ocean Creek does have better room options than Sea Crest. We just like Sea Crest because of location ,lazy river, kiddie pool, and pool side entertaiment. You should not read so much into the reviews.I find most people are to nitt picky.Ocean Creek has a lot of ground to run around. If you boys like to run.

I think they have bikes to rent as well. (You may want to check into this) Our rental person has bikes for our boys to ride. Ocean Creek is quiet, it is not near all the action I enjoy quiet, with four boys and all I could use it. They have a restaurant on the grounds too which is nice, (I only ate there twice)

Hi! Just want to let you know, we%26#39;ve been to Myrtle Beach and love it! We have 2 kids 11 and 14. If money is an issue, you could stay at Summer Wind Motel. It is right on the beach and has a pool and jacuzzi. It isn%26#39;t fancy but very affordable. It is clean and about 1-2 miles from the main strip. The rooms have kitchens in them. They also give you free breakfast. There are alot of things to do in MB. Family Kingdom Amusement Park is very reasonable with the wristband prices. You can even get coupons off the internet. Many other places will be advertised such as Ripley%26#39;s and more. You can buy package deals to go to those places. You also may want to wait till you get there because there are similar places that are less expensive. Just walking on the main strip is fun. They also have Broadway at the Beach. It is a huge complex with restuarants, shops, and entertainment. It is free to get into. The zoo is another place that was very nice and inexpensive. Another fun thing we did was crab. You can pick up net traps at Wal-mart and get chicken and have a ball. Hope this helped you out.

If you don%26#39;t like noise or a lot of teeans and all that stuff be sure not to stay anywhere south of 15th ave.

thanx everyone - checking the replies a couple times a day. We are looking for late July to early Aug so we still have some time. Now I am looking into the Sands/Ocean Dunes since they have their own waterpark. I am lthinking about @1000 for 5-7 days for a room, so I thought that should get me somewhere nice. We plan on outside entertainment (Ripley%26#39;s packages look great, as well as the Alligator something), I would just like something at the hotel for the kids to do in the down time, besaides swimming in the ocean you know - pool, lazy river, water park - just want to keep them busy and worn out my nights end hahahah Seacrest is not showing a lot of availability either :( I am on a mission now haha Appreciate all the suggestions, keep them coming :)

Some suggestions (vacations by owner) we saved a great deal of money one year (we booked 3 weeks before actual vacation) and saved alot of money (we had a 7 month old and we were not sure if we wanted to go that year) Anyway, we stayed at Kingston Plantation, they have lots of accommodations to choose from. They have a water park on site, but when we where there they charged us daily for the children, I think it is only free for the one particular hotel that is there. The Avista is brand new condo in North Myrtle Beach, The Beach Cove is supposed to be nice, I had a friend who wanted to stay at Ocean Creek, but it was booked and she stayed next door at Beach Cove, it has a lazy river, Pool Bar and Grill and Indoor OUtdoor pools. I do not think you will be disapointed with Sea Crest or Ocean Creek.

ItsMeThanks

I have a number of Towers At Ocean Creek (rental agency) I think their prices are reasonable for a 3 bedroom condo at Ocean Creek. 1800-345-5617. You can call them and ask for their website and you can look at the condos that are available. We had a beautiful condo last year, completely remodeled. Everything was brand new. I know it was on the third floor, side ocean view. Good LUck.
