I have never been to Myrtle Beach, but I hear its a great place to go and have fun with friends (im 20 and a college student). But I cant find the time to go during school, so i would most likely be able to go in early august. Can anyone shed some light on what the weather is like during that time of year? I know its the beginning of hurricane season, and its probably really hot, but some input would be great...thanks a bunch
Weather Question?
WEll it is the beginning of hurricane season but it isnt as hot as you think it is thats when it starts to cool down. You are welcome!
Weather Question?
The weather would probably be ot to you since you%26#39;re from NY. There is usually an afternoon shower because of the heat and the hurricanes are just something you have to hope and miss but if one is coming it always helps to have a hotel with a good cancellation policy so you can reschedule.....don%26#39;t wanna be suck in a hurricane.
The weather is August is risky. It can not only be very hot but also humid. It%26#39;s a crapshoot of course, but June is probably a bit safer.
Worrying about the weather reminds me of the old adage, ';Everyone talks about the weather but no one can do anything about it.'; I%26#39;ve been going to Myrtle Beach for 30 years. Never had a bad weather experience. Usually go in August in the 3rd or 4th week when rates drop. A bargain. Book your trip and have a good time. Even when it rains there is always something to do.
If you are bringing lots of frends with you August is fine but the schools have started in the area by then and things will have slowed waay down. I am talking about the beach. A few men with metal detectors and their wives. (Not that there is anything wrong with that) All of the attractions are still open but even some of the nightclubs are slow during the week. You should try to come during June or July (WIDE OPEN!)but if you like it quiet, come in August. It will be HOT but I don%26#39;t think there is too much chance of a hurricane causing you a problem. Good Luck!

We travel every year to Myrtle Beach about 3rd week of August for about 11 years, its hot, thunderstorm now and then. We only had to flee one Hurricane (but were able to come to our resort after 2 days) There was a heat advisory one year, so the bottom line its usually hot, humid, but I am from Pennsylvania and it%26#39;s not much different than our August weather, plus you are in Myrtle Beach, you will have such a great time no matter what. It is a great place.
