Hilton vs. Marriott vs. Westin

Coming to Hilton Head in June with family. Trying to decide where to stay, finding not so great reviews of Westin which was our fist choice, Any opinions on these three hotels? Thanks for your time.

Hilton vs. Marriott vs. Westin

The Marriott is nice, but BIG... and right on the beach. The Hilton is ok. Depending on budget, I highly reccomend The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, renting a Village home. The property is not on the beach however, there are plenty of activities, the webiste is www.palmettobluffresort.com

Good luck.

Hilton vs. Marriott vs. Westin

We have a 2 bedroom villa in Palmetto Dunes with an onsite pool and tennis courts. It is a short bike ride or walk to the beach. Palmetto Dunes also offers a free ';Dune Buggy'; shuttle bus service within the resort.

My family owns a condo just behind the Marriott time shares and the Westin. The Marriott there is newer and less snooty than the Westin. They have great pools, shuffleboard, and a nice spa. The Westin is very beautful too, but may be a bit overpriced. We stayed at the Hilton for a few days once and it was quite nice, bu a lot less elegant.

I don%26#39;t think you can go wrong with any of them. I stayed at The Westin several times last year and loved it! Perhaps someone complained because the staff didn%26#39;t kiss their feet, but it%26#39;s a beautiful hotel with a great pool and an awesome beach. The others I%26#39;ve stayed at in years past and was also very happy.

Hilton Head is, in this native South Carolinian%26#39;s opinion, the very best beach in South Carolina. Kiawah in Charleston is more beautiful, but Hilton Head offers both a beautiful beach during the day and restaurants, shops and nightlife.

We stayed at the Westin at it was wonderful. The service was great and the rooms were nice. The staff was friendly.

My vote is for the Westin. I have been to the Westin three times in the summer with my family and have stayed there everytime without complaint. Is this the most luxurious Westin property available, no, but I had nothing but positive experiences.

I think the biggest selling point for the Westin is its location as it is has, in my opinion, the best beachfront location on the island and is bordered by rental homes on one side so it is not terribly crowded. To me this is a HUGE benefit, since much of the shore on Hilton Head is rather marshy. Sure most of the best island beaches have public access, but convenience alone is worth the extra money for me.

I have also found the grounds to be well-maintained. In fact, having gone three times over a span of about 6 years I have seen SO many improvements to the property. From installing new hot tubs to adding additional seating, it is clear they are trying hard to improve the resort.

We have also ALWAYS recieved personable service and have had very clean rooms. I also highly recommend the seafood buffet. The dessert table is incredible!!

Is the Westin a bit expensive? Yes, but I think you will find this is the case with most hotels and restaurants on the island. If you don%26#39;t mind driving to the beach a cheaper hotel would be fine, but I think staying beach front is part of HH%26#39;s draw.

Additionally, the Westin is VERY family-oriented. It%26#39;s not always the best place for singles and couples as the pool area is definitely dominated by families, but this environment seems to work well with kids.
