Dayton House - ';Pipe';

Can anyone tell me how much of an issue this ';pipe'; is? I am starting to rethink my reservation. Is this a health hazard? Will it interfere with being able to swim in the ocean? Any advice is appreciated.

Dayton House - ';Pipe';

I am also staying at the Dayton House,what pipe are you talking about? Thank you

Dayton House - ';Pipe';

Apparently there is a pipe that carries water to the ocean or something. I am not sure exactly, I caught wind of it from other posts on this forum.

It has been there a long time. If it were a health hazard, I am sure that the EPA, health department and all the other watch dogs would have posted the beach long before now. People do swim there. We stayed at the Dayton House a couple of weeks ago. I am pretty sure it is the over flow pipe from the swimming pools at the DH. There are at least three of them very close to the pipe. Why don%26#39;t you call and ask? I am sure they would explain what it is. The water is clean and clear looking. I can%26#39;t imagine that it is coming from any sort of drainage from the streets or lawns.

These are not overflows from the pools. These are pipes that drain the runoff rain water from the roads into the ocean. They are everywhere along myrtle beach, approximately every 5th hotel has them in fromt of them. There happens to be a pipe in front of this particular hotel. I stayed there last summer and there was no problems with them. In fact if it doesn%26#39;t rain while you are there, you won%26#39;t even see water coming from them. IT IS ONLY RAIN WATER!! People make such a big deal about nothing. The only complaint I had with the pipes, is I tripped while running while flying a kite in the early evening on one. No smells, or contamination or anything. Have no worries.
