I need suggestions on things that I absolutely must do/try while in MB. Also, any restaurants that I should try.
Thanks

I do not know if you are traveling with children but here is what my family enjoys and we are 11 year vacationeers of Myrtle Beach: Ripley%26#39;s Aquarium, Broadway At The Beach (dining and restaurant complex) Barefoot Landing (shopping and Dining) Medieval Times (Dinner Show) Alligator Adventure, This year we are trying Parasailing and a Pirate Boat Adventure on the ocean, perhaps Sea Screamer (Boat Ride) Our favorite places to eat, Margaritaville (BATB), Hamburger Joe%26#39;s, Umberto%26#39;s, Sticky Fingers,
Drunken jacks, Lees, Creek Ratz. There are so many places to eat and play, you will have a great time, Oh, lots of miniature golfing.
just don%26#39;t ever take the boats to go looking for shells on some stupid island. There weren%26#39;t any shells worth picking up.
Wow, I just go to MB to ';bum'; around and do as little as possible. People watching is good at the Pavilion area, if you like gardens - Brookgreen Gardens is nice. Broadway at the Beach is a focal point for activity.
Definatly go to the Pavilion area. A historic amusement park on the ocean that is in danger of being closed down (the city wants luxury condos/hotels/shopping there) so enjoy it while you can. Always a lot of fun checking out the scene and the tacky tourist shops in that area (check out the Gay Dolphin, probably the largest tourist shop in MB.)
Info from a local--
don%26#39;t know your interests, but here goes . . .
Unusual/Must Visits
Brookgreen Gardens- largest outdoor statuaruy in the world, beautiful gards, animal center, historic rice plantation tours, etc. Inexpensive.
Atalaya at Huntington- across from Brookgreen Gardens, home to our on;ly castle, many legends, beautiful beach area, campgrund, natural wildlife and fauna galore. Inexpensive.
Boardwalk along Murrell%26#39;s Inlet- a long stretch of boardwalk connecting various restautrants and local shops while offerring a beautiful view of the inlet. I suggest eating at Creek Rat%26#39;s (great food, live entertainment on deck, small putting area to occupy children) and then taking a stroll along the boardwalk. No cost for boardwalk
Shoppes at Litchfield- a string of small, exclusive shops in Litchfield. They offer unusual items from hammocks to handcrafted jewelry, often locally crafted. Prices vary according to uniquesness and craftsmanship.
Must Visits
Broadway at the Beach- vast outdoor complex of restaurants, shops, walkways, nightlife, etc. No need to spend money, but plenty of places to do it. Great restaurants and the nightlife is some of the best on the beach.
Ocean Boulevard and 9th ave north- Home to one of the oldest Pavilion%26#39;s, an amusement park, and Gay Dolphin, which I think boast the largest gift shop in . .usa? world? can%26#39;t remember. :-)
Carolina Opry- It%26#39;s a fantastic musical production, no matter the season, night, or show. The CO often wins the Governor%26#39;s award. I%26#39;ve never met a person who%26#39;s been dissapointed.
Crazy-- but cool
At night-- ride the ferris wheel at the Pavilion amusement park. The view of the city and ocean is spectacular.
Take a day trip to Charleston and visit the historic areas of the Battery and the Market. Stop at the basket booths along highway 17.
Standard Tourist entities
Water Parks- Wild water and wheels is best
Dixie Stampede
Nascar Speedpark
Medieval Times
Coastal Grand Mall
Putt Putt Golf
Great Food--
Seafood-- only from Murrells Inlet or Pawley%26#39;s Island; otherwise, you can find the same at home.
Oysters? Try Nances in Murrell%26#39;s Inlet.
Thuroughbred%26#39;s on Restuarant Row-- best of everything with an elegant setting. not inexpensive.
Tired-- feel like I%26#39;ve been on vacation. :--)
Enjoy
Oh yea- restaurants....most people like to go the big mega-buffets at least once. I can%26#39;t take it more than one time per trip...but places like ';Bennett%26#39;s'; are all on Restaurant Row. You can%26#39;t miss them.
