We will be stayiong at the oceand dunes 4/2 thru 4/9 05. Our husbands will be golfing during the day. Is there any good shopping or dining around the area? Also what about the nightlife?

There is a new mall just down from Broadway at the Beach off of the 17 Bypass called Coastal Grand . It has lots of nice places to shop and also The Tanger Outlets are off Bus 17 just north of the Ocean Dunes and also Colonial Mall is north of there also and Barefoot Landing also. Night Life happening are Broadway at the Beach and several other good places around 21st Ave N .

Will there be bikers there from 5-5 to 5-12?

Hey Everyone: My husband and I are going to Myrtle

Beach from 5-5 to 5-12. I know that Bike Week starts shortly thereafter but I was wondering if many bikers come early? Don%26#39;t get me wrong, I LOVE BIKERS, but I was thinking about the traffic. Anyone know? redcocomo

Will there be bikers there from 5-5 to 5-12?

Bike week begins on the 13th of May. You will see a few come in a day or two early but not enough where traffic will really be affected.

The Palms Resort

Has anyone heard any good/bad reviews of the Palms resort? My husband and I are going to MB in July and are staying there. I have heard both really good and some bad reviews.

We stayed there once a few years back only because Dayton House ( next door) was full. It was okay, nothing spectacular, not as clean as we prefer but not bad. Just thought for what it cost at that time it could have been a little better.

Some suggestions for a novice!

I am a neophyte with respect to Myrtle Beach. We are thinking of making our venture to the area late August. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, G16, G9 and B9). We might or might bring our nephew, age 13.

Consequently, we are looking for accomodations with 3 bedrooms. I found what appears to be acceptable lodging so far at Forest Dunes and Ocean Reef that seem reasonable. Are these OK places to stay or can I do better for less that $1300 for a week?

Some suggestions for a novice!

I dont know much about this hotel except the trip advisor reviews and the web site. but the bar harbor resort has offered me a 3 bedroom oceanfront suite for 10 days 1570.00 total with tax. good location near family kingdom and 6 blocks from pavillion. has anyone stayed there recently?

How is the Landmark resort?

On a previous post, I mentioned I was looking at staying at one of these places that I have narrowed down my search to:

Avista, Breakers, LongBay, Sea Crest and Landmark resorts.

Can anyone tell me how Landmark is?

They gave me a great rate for oceanfront room.

I have 2 older teenagers and a 9 year old.

Is any of the other ones I mentioned better?

We%26#39;re taking our 2 kids (9 and 5) to the beach for 4 days and are looking for a great family place w/lots of kids activities, playground, pool. Any suggestions?

If in you budget I would suggest Kingston plantation which they have the choice of condos embassy suites or hilton.The have a nice waterpark for the kids.If you are on a budget I would suggest Sea mist resort in Myrtle beach.They have so much for the kids they will not want to leave.

sea mist hotel! excellent for kids. Has a water park at hotel(large), free tickets to another water park and amusment park thats right next door thats included with room, unlimited visits for every body in room, arcade, ocean front. Just a really nice hotel with all entertainment included check this out wont regert it. seamist.com. I%26#39;m going back again this year! no complaints at all!

Harbor Island, SC

I%26#39;m thinking about spending a week at Harbor Island renting a house in May. Does anyone know what it%26#39;s like there? Will the water be warm enough to swim in in May? Is the beach small? Seems like a great area since it%26#39;s so close to Beaufort, Savannah and Charleston, but no one writes about it.

Harbor Island is beautiful if you just like to relax. I%26#39;ve been going to Hunting Island (next island over) for 30 years. It is very natural, peaceful, and serene. Don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll be doing any swimming in May, but the ocean and beach is still beautiful to see. You should definitely visit Savannah and Hilton Head Island while you%26#39;re in the neighborhood. I hope you have a fun trip!

I%26#39;ve lived in Beaufort for almost 30 years. We homeschool our three children and one of the benefits of homeschooling is that we finish at the beginning of May so that we can go to the beach!!

I love the beauty and serenity of Harbor Island. It%26#39;s very private. In May, you will need a jacket at night because it will be windy, but you should have awesome warm dys. It should be warm enough to swim.

Do yourself a favor and be sure to eat at the Shrimp Shack. They have the best shrimpburgers!!
