I would like to know which beach is better or nicer, I am speaking about nice sands etc. Is it in North of MB or in town or in south.
Tks.
Best beachThere is virtually no physical differences in the beaches the entire lenght of the Grand Strand. The real difference comes in the atmosphere that each has, created by the population density of the surrounding beachfront properties. In short MB is more crowded than say N. MB or Surfside Beach. You will notice the beach around Garden City and Surfside Beach is smaller (if not non-existant) during high tide than the areas north of there.
Best beachThe best beach in the area is further south, Litchfield and Pawley%26#39;s Island. Nice wide beaches with sea oats between the homes and the beach. Beautiful area but is a good 30 to 45 minutes south of the main MB area maybe longer depending on traffic.
We have a house at Surfside Beach and we have a beautiful beach there. We still have a nice wide beach at high tide with the exception of a few short spots and that is only during certain times of the year. My in-laws live in N. Myrtle in the Ocean Dr. area and we have a lot more beach at high tide. Garden City has a beautiful wide beach also.
If you want a family atmosphere with lots to to but not all the hustle and bustle of Downtown Myrtle, you should try the Surfside/Garden City area.
