Fishing piers

I would like to take my 6-year old fishing (Pier only), and I%26#39;m looking for any advice on the best pier, time of day, or any other tips you might have. Also crabbing looked fun. Thank you.

Fishing piers

I suggest Springmaid or 2nd Ave. piers if you are staying in MB proper. Early AM with an incoming tide is best. Don%26#39;t expect much unless it%26#39;s mackeral season or something. Pier fishing in general has been pretty poor for the last 20 years or so. I would suggest one of the short 1/4 day trips on a boat out of CaptainDick%26#39;s Marina in Murrell%26#39;s Inlet. I also highly suggest the Saltwater Marsh Explorer trip they offer as well- fun and educational.
