Sands Resorts vs. SeaMist with 2 toddlers??

Best family oriented hotel/resort for 2 toddlers? Lots of activities other than sand/ocean? Cleanliness is a must!

Sands Resorts vs. SeaMist with 2 toddlers??

I have never stayed at the Sands Resorts but have stayed BRIEFLY at the Sea Mist. My husband and I decided on Sea Mist because of the kid attractions. We checked in and checked out hours later. Many things wrong: elevator was broke, dirty beds, and a live cockroach scurried across the dresser----during the day time! My husband and I went to check out meeting up with other guests in the lobby doing the same as us because of similiar reasons. This happened to us in 1999 and maybe things have changed for the Sea Mist, but I know I won%26#39;t stay there.

We have never stayed at either place but have looked at both. I went thru the Sands resort to check out the menu for dinner last August. We were staying fairly nearby this hotel and looking for an ocean front restaurant. It looked far from clean, very run down and old. Haven%26#39;t been to the Sea Mist in years but when I did look at the rooms when my children were small, about ten years ago, they were decorated vintage 70%26#39;s. We have been staying at the Embassy at Kingston Plantation for several years now. Kingston Plantation has several condo choices, the Hilton and the Embassy. The Embassy has the large ';Splash'; waterpark for children, which is really neat. They also have kids activities thru out the day directed by ';camp counselors';. Activities from water games to arts and crafts (all ages included). They have theme nights for family evenings that may include hola hoop contests or a 4th July country barbecue. It is a gated community that has small ponds with ducks and fish and is a short beach walk to a long pier. I think it is a great place for any family

We stayed at Kingston Plantation at the South Hampton Towers and yes there was a Splash Water Park, however there was a charge and when I asked why they told me you had to be staying at a particular hotel on the property I thought it was the Embassy or Wyndham.

No charge when staying at the Embassy, but not sure of the Hilton. We have never stayed at the Hilton only had dinner there.

Thanks..I thought I might be the only one not sleeping. I didn%26#39;t think I would get a response until the a.m.

Still here..where do you like to stay??? Embassy is pricey but my husband works for Hilton so we only go when we can stay at the employee rate whic is 1/10th of the normal rate. You can%26#39;t even get a breakfast for two for what we pay for a night(peak season). But I really do love it !!!!! We are trying the Hampton Oceanfront the end of July this year for one week.

My husband liked the rocking chairs on the balconies at the Hampton when we toured the property last August. I like the free drinks at the Embassy each evening...go figure???

I had to attend to one of the boys, one was sick, anyway we stay at Ocean Creek south towers at the end of August, when do you vacation?

I%26#39;m sad to hear that the Seamist has really went down.

As a family we used to stay there in the summer for 1 week and loved it! Was family owned and operated and was a real nice place and location.
