Travel to Savannah from Charleston

Is is better to stay in Charleston and travel to Savannah for a day or vice versa. Want to see both.

I may be bias but I would stay downtown Charleston and travel to Savannah for a day. I love Savannah but I think there is more to offer in Charleston.

Either way it only takes 2 hours to drive take highway 17 I think its called that ,its a much nicer drive than on the state highway .

Both Savannah and Charleston are beautiful towns and really I could not say deep in my heart if one is better than the other . The people are fantastic in both towns showing that great Southern Hospitality . what ever these town%26#39;s have !! its drawn me back for my 4th visit and I am in England . Cant wait untill july 26th myself .

Both towns have southern charm, beautiful homes ,

charleston has the Battery and Savannah has river street .

and so much more than I could possibly list or this message would turn into a book .

My husband grew up on Sullivan%26#39;s Island, so we always have Charleston on our destination list. One year, we decided to spend the week driving from Charleston to Savannah and the stops in between (Beaufort, Hilton Head, etc). We spent a few days in Charleston and a few days in Savannah. Live and learn; we%26#39;ve been spoiled by Charleston and didn%26#39;t find enough to do in Savannah. We could spend a week in Charleston anyday, but I think we%26#39;d be hard pressed to spend more than a day in Savannah. Aside from the tour of the squares and the market area, there wasn%26#39;t much to do.
