Kingston Plantation

Lillious - I see where you just stayed there - what did you think? We are coming down on a Marriott promotion and will be staying in one of the villas. How far are they from the beach? We had the choice between Kingston or Barefoot Resort. We chose Kingston because it was closer to the beach.

Kingston Plantation

The distance to the beach really depends on what area you are staying in. Kingston Plantation is a huge complex. We%26#39;ve stayed in Richmond Park and West Hyde Park and the walk was 5-10 minutes. Some of the other places are closer, some further. It%26#39;s never bothered me, but my kids are teens, so I don%26#39;t have to lug all that kiddie stuff to the pool/beach. The villas are very spacious, and I really like not having to wait for the elevators. I miss the ocean view but the villas are surrounded by trees and lakes. They%26#39;re also less expensive so I can spend the $$ on dinner out. The beach in that part of Myrtle Beach is very nice. Wide and moderately crowded ( depending on when you are there ). I think Barefoot is actually a golf resort, so if you%26#39;re looking for something near the water you made the right decision. Hope that helps and have a great vacation.
