we are looking for suggestions of where to stay in mid august. we have stayed at the crown reef and the sands ocean club. both were major disappointments. has anyone stayed at the sea mist or the breakers? any candid suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
looking for a nice hotel
Carolina Winds is good, they have 1br effec., 2 BR that is oceanview and 3BR oceanfront, also 4BR oceanview. Outdoor Pool is large, Lazy River, and indoor pool. Also Beach Cove has all same rooms except don%26#39;t think they have a 4BR, they have either two or three outdoor pools, lazy river, several hot tubs, indoor pool. I haven%26#39;t stayed at Carolina Winds in a few years, but know people who have and they haven%26#39;t had any problems. We have reservations at Beach Cove in beginning of August, this will be our 3rd or 4th time there. Hope this helps. I think Sea Mist can be a disappointment also, although have not stayed there, just hearing from other people.
looking for a nice hotel
Try Sea Crest resort or Breakers resort. They are both nice.Can%26#39;t go wrong with either of them.
If you stay at Breakers make sure it is in the Paradise Towers, the other places are run down, old, %26amp; dirty. I stayed there in 2003 %26amp; 2004. Check is is alway a mess, long lines, no place to park to get luggage out %26amp; never any carts. When we stayed in 2004 our room smelled of smoke, it is a non-smoking hotel, but who ever was in before us had a party, it smelled like a bar. I complained but nobody cared. I asked for the manager, he said that I could not change rooms. The room right next to us was the same but did not smell. He would not give it to me, he said it would mess up their computer system if I changed rooms, I have never stayed at a hotel that would not let me change rooms if I was not happy. Paradise Towers is newer %26amp; clean, but I do not care for the staff. This is the first time in about 7 years that we did not go to myrtle beach, running out of nice places to stay. Don%26#39;t bother looking at the Landmark or Compass Cove both are dumps.
We stayed at Sea Watch Resort. It is heavenly! It has two parts, the north and the south. We were in the south, oceanfront. The rooms are clean, and the cleaning staff comes by every morning. It has 2 lazy rivers, and 4 spas, and 4 pools, 2 inside and 2 outside. It is located towards the lower section of the northern section and is right next to the Travel Park campground. It is on Arrowhead road right down from Barefoot Landing. We love it there and want to go back. Please check this out!
Hi Beachgirlinpa
We are also from Pennsylvania, we stay at Ocean Creek Resort, but it does not have a lazy river, about 2 years ago we had the oppportunity to see Sea Watch and it is just beautiful. It has a beautiful pool area. If you check over here on your left of your screen you will see myrtle beach hotels and you will get a review of the hotels, I think Sea Mist has mixed reviews, I hear Sea Crest is great also.
You might try looking for a condo on www.vrbo.com
